that I have been sharing over
the past eighteen months.
If so, you know that the message
of this show is one that is very timely.
Especially as this was apparently
an election year and many of us are aware
that neither the biosphere,
the economy, nor the human family
are likely to thrive as we deserve
to, should the current US administration
manipulate its way back into power,
which is what is it currently doing
with only a faint cry of outrage
from certain factions.
As I understand it, the balance
of life requires articulate voices
proclaiming the truth from
the perspective of the natural world.
Even as the corporate military
industrial giant
heaves it enormous body mercilessly
across the globe,
the delicacy and power of
the fabric of life
is working to regenerate and renew
itself in balance.
Ourstory is an offering on
behalf of that balance.
It is my intention to introduce
the full opera
with such beauty and power that
the voice of Nature
can only be welcomed by the
collective consciousness.
The opera has been described by
Andrew Beath,
one of the directors of the World
Festival of Sacred Music,
as sharing a message as important
for our time as Hair was for the 60’s.
For this reason he has adopted
the project under the non-profit,
Earthways, which he
founded to support direct action in the Amazon rainforests
and conscious activist
projects worldwide.
Ourstory is a grass roots operation.
On behalf of Mother Earth,
it is time to rise up
in unity.
To be silent at this time on our
planet is to comply
with the forces of greed and destruction.
We must cry out with a loud
voice.
The opera is a way to do this
in beauty and peacefulness.
Not protesting against
but proclaiming what we want
on stages, in theaters and on video
screens
Utilizing the entertainment industry
so loved by our culture
reaching the families in every
living room.
Help us to sing this truth
to all that can hear it.
You probably remember many of the
songs from the musicals of the past...
I recall songs from the musicals
created before I was born - 'Some enchanted Evening'...'There's a Place
for Us'....'Summertime'....'I could have Danced All Night"....'Don't Cry
for Me Argentina"
We have been defined as a culture
by the great musicals of the past 50 years.
More powerful than advertizing,
these musicals live on for generations
in the hearts of many.
Ourstory
is a way to define the next 50 years -
to nurture our culture back
into loving harmony and balance -
between the sexes, the generations,
the cultures and
between Humanity and Mother Earth.
The music of this opera has the
power of the ancient bards coursing through it.
Every song was written out of profound
communion
with Earth and the elemental forces
of creation.
Obeying the impulse that wrote
itself through me these past 20 years,
my life was altered forever,
Ask me and one day,
I will tell you some of the mysteries
behind the music.
It is almost beyond belief, unless
you believe in magic.
For this reason I am able to ask
you for your generous support.
Not for me, but for a vision that
is greater than each of us as individuals.

Where will your money go?
As I am preparing to stage and
film Ourstory
It will pay to hire the director,
cast, costumes, sound and light technicians, rehearsal space etc., to produce
and film a local version, in order to invite backers and investors to finance
the next steps including: PR, a grantwriter, advertizing, developing a
business plan for further investments.
It will go to hire the skills necessary
to develop the video backdrop - a global picture of now.
And the innumerable details that such a project requires.
